ULYANA SERGEENKO SPRING 2015 HAUTE COUTURE: A DRAMATIC FLAIR

by - 11:27 AM

Russian designer Ulyana Sergeenko’s spring 2015 haute couture collection offered up a fantasy of colors and shapes. With inspiration drawn from Russia’s neighboring countries, Georgia and Armenia, spring looked to architecture, Georgian-Armenian director Sergei Parajanov and 19th century poetry for reference points. Curved silhouettes cinched at the waist and flared at the hemline are hand embroidered with criss-cross stitching, crystals and swirls. Still, more minimal moments also stand out like a burgundy-colored jumpsuit or black dress adorned with sheer, three-quarter sleeves in white.
